Schools' Investment Game Rules
General
The UTC's Schools' Investment Game 2009 will take place over a thirteen (13) week
period from October 19 2009 to Janurary 29 2010.
Registration will open on October 1 2009 at which point any number of teams from
any secondary school in Trinidad and Tobago may register here
to being participating in the game.
Teams must consist of a Teacher and between three and five students of which one student must be
chosen to function as the captain. After registering, teams can login and begin building and managing
their investment portfolio over the course of the game.

SIG User Manual.
The overall objective is to invest wisely and build a portfolio that will increase in total
value over the course of the game.
When registered, team will be able to login and create their and manage their investment portfolios
over the course of the game.
Each Team will be allotted a notional sum of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00 TT) for investment.
Teams must invest in all of the seven (7) UTC instruments in any proportion, but no more than eighty
per cent (80%) of investible funds may be in one instrument. In addition, no less than TT five
hundred dollars (TT $500.00) may be invested in any one stock on the Stock Market or any other instrument.
Also note that teams are required to utilize all funds available.
Changes to your portfolio are accomplished by disposing of some or all of a previous investment and
acquiring investment in new instruments using the capital from the previous disposal. Team will achieve this
using the "Modify Portfolio" feature:

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to First through Fourth places only as follows:
First Prize:
$10,000.00 TT in Supplies and Equipment and a Challange Trophy
Second Prize:
$6000.00 TT in Supplies and Equipment and a Trophy
Third Prize:
$4000.00 TT in Supplies and Equipment and a Trophy
Fourth Prize:
$2000.00 TT in Supplies and Equipment and a Trophy
In addition, all winning team members (Second to Fourth places), will have an account opened for them in the Growth and Income Fund in the amount of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00).
All members of the winning team will have a Growth and Income Fund account
opened for them in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00)
In addition to these, each month the team with the potfolio of the highest value will be given a prize and recognized on the SIG web site.
